T’ai Chi Ch’uan is often taught in large group settings, where the teacher’s focus is divided amongst many students. This format makes it difficult to provide the detailed, individualized corrections that are crucial for mastering such a complex discipline. Without personalized guidance, students may struggle to fully internalize the principles and refine their movements effectively.
By offering affordable private and small group classes, I can focus my attention on enabling you to move at your own pace and in your own direction. We will tailor a course to your specific goals. These can include but are not limited to self defense skills, healing the body, stress reduction, improving health and longevity, increasing the body's resistance to disease, better balance, increased personal power, generating a state of impenetrable calm, achieving meditation in movement, becoming more spontaneous so as to better be in the moment and achieving a deeper spiritual awareness and connection. That is a lot, so it is up to the teacher to understand and help direct each student upon their path.

Discover the fun and exciting practice of T’ai Chi Push-Hands, where movement meets mindfulness in an engaging, interactive class open to all skill levels—no prior T’ai Chi experience required. Push-Hands offers a playful and practical exploration of the principles of the T’ai Chi form, teaching you how to connect with your body and that of your partner while developing fluid movements and spontaneous reactions with a partner. Through this practice, you’ll discover the art of balance, grounding and effortless power as you learn to navigate and redirect external forces with grace and precision.
More than just a class, Push-Hands is an opportunity to cultivate self-awareness and self-empowerment. As you mindfully inhabit your body and explore foundational self-defense techniques based on neutralizing or deflecting attacking energy while simultaneously returning an attack to its source. You’ll build confidence and harmony in how you move with others. Whether your goal is to improve your health, develop a deeper connection to yourself, or simply enjoy an engaging new experience, this class will inspire you to flow through life with greater balance, resilience, and presence.
